Departmental Parking Permits
Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) understands that FSU is a diverse commuting environment. Therefore, we are committed to helping you explore all available parking options so that you can make an informed decision that best meets your department’s needs.
Below you will find a description of each type of departmental placard and hang-tag available to University Departments:
Short-Term Placard: Valid for 2 hours in spaces designated as short-term parking. Short-term spaces are denoted by signage.
Service Vehicle Hang-Tag: Valid in parking spaces designated for service vehicles. Service vehicle spaces and areas are denoted by signs and/or pavement markings. The Service Vehicle Hang-Tag is only valid in service vehicle spaces that are not reserved for specific vehicles.
Loading Zone Hang-Tag: Valid in designated loading zones for 20 minutes only. This hang-tag is not valid in any other parking spaces or areas. Loading zones are denoted by signs and/or curb or pavement markings.
Departmental ‘RD’ Hang-Tag: Valid in faculty/staff parking spaces only. Faculty/staff parking spaces are denoted by signs and/or red stall lines applied to the pavement. This hang-tag is available for department use only. This hang-tag may not be given to faculty, staff, or students for personal use.
Please be advised that any department, departmental employee, or student that knowingly applies for, receives, or uses a parking placard or hang-tag by giving false information or under any other false pretenses shall be charged with false registration and fined $100.00 in accordance with our campus parking and traffic regulations. Any department representative that knowingly gives another person a placard or hang-tag to use fraudulently shall also be fined. All departments are expected to notify Transportation and Parking Services if a placard or hang-tag has been lost, stolen, or otherwise taken without permission.
