Parking on Campus

Parking Enforcement Hours

Parking permits are required and parking regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Most permits are valid until 11:59 p.m.; leaving a vehicle on campus overnight requires a permit with overnight privileges.

Open weekend parking is available from 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday in most non-restricted parking areas.

Open parking does not apply to reserved spaces, loading zones, service vehicle spaces, accessible spaces without required credentials, areas restricted by signage, or locations affected by special events and home football games.

Parking signage always takes precedence. Permit access, enforcement hours, and parking restrictions may vary by location.

Parking Permits

To park on campus, vehicles must either be associated with a valid parking permit or parked in a designated hourly parking location. Obtain permits through the FSU Parking Portal, and find available hourly parking through the ParkMobile app.

  • Virtual parking permits expire on August 15th of each year (except for payroll deduction permits).
  • Parking in the center of campus fills up quickly. Parking is most available in the parking garages and parking lots on the perimeter of campus.
  • Parking is never allowed in fire lanes, bus lanes, undesignated areas (curbs, grass, etc.), or as noted by signage.
  • Must park nose-in unless a valid Back-In Hang-Tag permit is displayed. Back-In Hang-Tags are not valid in garages.

Students

  • Student permits allow parking in student (white-striped) spaces Monday through Friday, 5:45 a.m. to 11:59 p.m..
  • Student permits allow parking in faculty/staff (red-striped) spaces from 4:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., unless otherwise noted by signage.
  • Optional reserved parking is available with a VRES permit.
  • Students wishing to park on campus overnight must obtain a permit with overnight parking privileges.

Faculty/Staff

  • Faculty/staff permits allow parking in faculty/staff  (red-striped) spaces 24 hours a day, Monday - Friday.
  • Faculty/staff permits allow parking in student (white-striped) spaces 4:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., Monday - Friday.
  • Optional reserved parking is available with a VRES permit.

  • There are 6 parking garages on campus.
  • Students may park in Student, white-striped spaces from 5:45 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., unless denoted by signage.
  • Vehicles must be parked nose-in. Back-In Hang-Tags are not valid in garages.

    • Call Street: 8'-3" first floor; 7'-0" upper floors
    • St. Augustine: 8'-2" first floor; 7'-0" upper floors
    • Pensacola: 8'-2" first floor; 7'-2" upper floors

    • Traditions: 9'-0" first floor; 7'-0" upper floors
    • Woodward: 8'-2" first floor; 7'-0" upper floors

  • Paved or gravel lots

Gated Surface Lots

  • Accessible with approved gate access cards or remote clickers.
  • Most gates open after 5 p.m., but some gates remain closed.

Overnight Parking

Students wishing to leave a vehicle on campus overnight must have a permit with overnight parking privileges and must park in an approved overnight parking location.

Always review lot signage and permit restrictions before leaving a vehicle overnight.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spaces are available throughout FSU's campus . In addition to parking in accessible spaces, vehicles displaying a state-issued disabled plate or placard (and actively transporting the person to which the plate/placard is assigned) have the option of parking in hourly spaces at no cost.
